I know you are going through a lot, and you want to be heard. All you want is to get in to see somebody. I am happy to help and look forward to being on your journey.
Before we begin, you need to know about the kind of help you may need. As a licensed certified clinical social worker, LCSW-Cs are trained and skilled in psychotherapy and counseling. Counselors are not always trained in psychotherapy.

Do you want Psychotherapy or Counseling?
Here's a quick reference to help you decide.
What is COUNSELING?
“Counseling” means a method used by social workers to assist clients in learning how to solve problems and make decisions about personal, health, social, educational, vocational, financial, and other interpersonal concerns.

Think of counseling as guided advice from an accountability partner. As your counselor, I help you work through specific problems on a short-term basis. We will work through how to cope with and accept change in your situations. Counseling focuses on changing behavior that makes problems worse and improving the behavior that helps you get the life you deserve.
The goal is to DO better.
What is PSYCHOTHERAPY?
“Psychotherapy” means formulating a diagnostic impression and an assessment for the treatment of mental and behavioral disturbances while utilizing a specialized formal interaction between the client and the social worker in which a therapeutic relationship is established and maintained.

Psychotherapy is a longer process. As a healthcare service, psychotherapy focuses on examining your thought processes, present and past trauma, and how your emotions and behavior may be affecting your life. Psychotherapy seeks to find how and where the problem started, trying to get to the core issues. The process begins with a psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment plan.
The goal is to FEEL better.
